Today we keep fit by creating ethical, cultural and aesthetic well-being with "The work, not anything else" which is the tautological, rigorous and healthy title of Bruno Ceccobelli's exhibition in Rome at Simona Marchini which unites with a healthy sentimental and non-commercial logic two thinking brains with emotional intelligence and united by a powerful and intellectual friendly relationship.
This union sends a well-wishing message on the potential of going against the grain to rediscover healthy interpersonal human, intellectual and cultural values ??to be contrasted in a solid and even romantic way, to the overbearing negative and ruthless consumerism of today's Art market...
In this short text by Simona Marchini which acts as a preamble to the exhibition, there is a pathos that unites the cultural depth of an authentic great Artist who, by choice, is out of the artificial and trendy spotlights of the market, who returns to exhibit after 10 years in Rome and the sensitivity and empathy of an intelligent and respectable Woman who has always created only positivity, even cultural, with discretion.

"Seeing someone dear and familiar to us may seem like a foregone conclusion, but in reality it is never like that...
This is why life continues to surprise us!
I have known Bruno Ceccobelli for many years, and the time of the heart's vibrations is always surprising.
After a long time we met again and I felt an unexpected and ancient heartbeat, exactly like the first time I timidly knocked on the door of his studio at Pastificio Cerere.
It was immediately "contact", it was immediately warmth.
We spoke, we understood each other, I couldn't explain it..
I only know that I deeply loved his art and his hospitality.
Finding him again today has reactivated that emotional and sentimental journey, as if the time of feeling had no boundaries. Speaking at length about his work during the visit to his Ceccobelli 80s exhibition in Todi, ideal and spiritual landscapes opened up in my heart and mind, complicit and surprisingly similar.
Brotherhood is something of a stranger to the times and ways in which things happen."

"For me, being contemporary means being true and dignified, in fact honest. This is not the case in today's capitalist society where everything is calculation, technology, and the exploitation of the incompetence of others.
You see, the strength of my painting lies in the fact that it is an honest work because it is thought, worked, built. Its strength belongs to a royal work, it is the royal road of life.
For me, the connection of time in history is very important. I still feed a lot on art, from the primordial to that which is the source of my memory and the land in which I live: the Gothic Middle Ages, the light of the Byzantines in Italy, the voice of the Jacobean lauds.
I paint to move the internal shadows, to modify the interior of the gaze. No, you cannot erase the shadows. Alchemy taught me the necessity, the conciliation of opposites: androgyny, which I studied so much, told me that the shadows and the lights are called, are mutual.
I have made many works on the theme, so that the light, which is also shadow, continues to illuminate us." |
